A Coordinator with 24 years of experience in Youth Health and Human Services. She began her education at Southern University in New Orleans, initially studying Addictive Behaviors Counseling and Prevention before focusing on Psychology.
Erica's passion for mentoring youth started at age 18, volunteering for programs like "Dress for Success" and "Order of the Eastern Stars.
Erica is a dedicated wife of 25 years, and a mother to six young adults. Over her career, she has collaborated with youth and Louisiana State agencies, worked in childcare with the Texas Workforce Commission, and earned certification from the National Workforce Institute. She contributed to research programs like R.I.S.K. (Resilience in Survivors of Katrina), funded by Harvard and Yale. Erica founded "Purple Queens Academy" in Slidell, Louisiana, to address the challenges Black women face, teaching "real-world" education, accountability, and responsibility. She also supports the Slidell Boys and Girls Club as a previous board member.
In 2019, Erica founded the “Purple Dynasty Foundation,” a nonprofit focused on supporting and advocating for women and youth. Professionally, she created the first youth-based sexual health training and mentorship program at her employer, CrescentCare, and developed the P.E.E.R.S. (Prevention Education for Early Risk-Reduction in Students) program, which runs over three phases annually. In 2022, she earned CITI Certification for her work with the National HIV Behavior Surveillance project at Louisiana State University. Erica is a member of several boards and an ambassador for partner programs such as Bounce 2 Zero, a national campaign to end new HIV occurances.
At CrescentCare, Erica has been instrumental in developing standard operating procedures for STI testing and outreach, as well as creating high school and college mentoring programs.
